Post 3: The Best Song Ever
Comfortably Numb
The best song in history for me is by the band Pink Floyd
and it's called "Comfortably Numb", this song was created by David
Gilmour and later Roger Waters composed the rest of the song.
This song finally saw the light in the year 1979, David
Gilmour became more famous and known for the guitar solo that appears in the
song. Guitar World magazine ranked David Gilmour's solo in 4th place on its
list of "The 100 Greatest Guitar Solo's" although for fans around the
world, it is one of the greatest solos in history.
This song originates from an experience in a concert that Roger Waters lived, in the year 1977, the leader of the band was not in conditions to play with the group because he had strong abdominal pains. Later, a doctor decided to inject him with a strong muscle relaxant that helped Roger Waters to be able to play that day with his band, completely numb.
While many thought the song was about drugs, Waters insists that it is not. The lyrics are about what he felt when he was sick with a fever as a child.
It's the last song
the band played with their classic quartet formation (Gilmour - Waters - Wright
- Mason), was the closing theme in the last presentation that Pink Floyd did,
so, for the fans it's a song that closed a cycle and a phase of this band.

Pink Floyd is an amazing band!
